NORMAL & SURGICAL EXTRACTION

Teeth Extraction in Sharjah

Teeth extraction, also known as tooth removal, is a common dental procedure in which a dentist or oral surgeon removes a tooth from its socket in the jawbone. There are several reasons why teeth extraction may be necessary. One of the most prevalent reasons is severe tooth decay or damage that cannot be effectively treated through other dental procedures, such as fillings or crowns. When a tooth is causing persistent pain, infection, or overcrowding, extraction becomes a viable solution. Additionally, impacted wisdom teeth (third molars) often require extraction to prevent complications. Overall, teeth extraction aims to improve oral health, alleviate discomfort, and prevent further dental issues.

Normal Extraction: This procedure is typically performed on visible teeth that have fully erupted. During normal extraction, the dentist uses forceps to gently remove the tooth from the socket. Local anesthesia is usually sufficient for pain control. It is a straightforward and less invasive process.

Surgical Extraction: Surgical extraction is more involved and is necessary for teeth that are impacted (partially or fully trapped beneath the gumline) or broken off at the gum level. It may require an incision in the gum tissue to access the tooth, and sometimes a small portion of the bone needs to be removed. General anesthesia or conscious sedation is often used for surgical extractions. Overall, surgical extraction is reserved for more complex cases.
